Upgrade knowledge and expertise of local maritime personnel through attending approved training programmes under the Maritime Cluster Fund (MCF).

Purpose of the Scheme

Professionals in the maritime sector get funding support when they upgrade their skills through training and in-house courses.

Eligibility Criteria

  • All Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents who:
    • are working in the maritime sector; and
    • are not receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same course.
  • Training Service Providers (TSPs) conducting maritime-related courses, seminars and conferences in Singapore

Funding Support

  • Up to 70% of the course fees or qualifying costs (excluding Goods and Services Tax).
  • The following activities are supported:
Short Courses Scope: Must be MPA pre-approved courses

Who can apply:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Employees sponsored by business entities/organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore. They must not be receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same course
  • Self-sponsored individuals may apply
  • Attain at least 75% attendance at the course
Certifiable Courses Scope: Must be MPA pre-approved courses

Who can apply:

  • Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents
  • Employees sponsored by business entities/organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore. They must not be receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same course
  • Self-sponsored individuals may apply
  • Participants must successfully complete the programme and be awarded with the certification
In-House Courses Scope: Well-structured in-house training programme conducted in Singapore for employees to gain knowledge and experience in maritime domains

Who can apply:

  • Maritime businesses/organisations registered or incorporated in Singapore, and not receiving any other form of financial assistance from another government body for the same in-house training programme
  • Training programme should be conducted by an instructor and in the form of a workshop/lecture
  • At least 25% of the trainees (employees) must be Singapore Citizens or Permanent Residents

To Apply

  • Participants must submit the Application form to the MCF Secretariat at least 30 days before the start of the training programme.
  • TSPs are required to write to the MCF Secretariat with details of the training programme
